very September, the LytoFresh team travels to Korea, joining our local distributor to visit resellers, cooperatives, farmers’ associations, agricultural suppliers, and apple orchards. These in-depth visits allow us to better understand how the key freshness solution product AnsiP-G is being used in a practical way.
In Korea, Chuseok (the autumn harvest festival) in September and the year-end New Year season are both important gift-giving seasons. Since apples are only freshly harvested starting in September, supply is often limited and prices are at their peak. For growers, the key challenge lies in how to safely store apples from the previous season, in order to maximize income during these festive sales periods.
This is why, by the end of 2022, AnsiP-G had already been adopted in over 2,500 regions across Korea. For Korean farmers, AnsiP-G is not only easy to use and highly stable, but it also helps apples stay fresh in cold storage for up to a full year—making it a safe and cost-effective choice.
In 2022, the Plant Doctor Jang Kwang-Wook, CEO of Evergreen Plant Hospital in Gimcheon, Gyeongsangbuk-do, shared his thoughts:
“AnsiP-G is a product that has been validated in global markets. Thanks to its excellent preservation effect, I have been continuously using it. I would recommend it to nearby farms that are looking for a freshness solution.”
Every year during our visits, farmers across Korea warmly share different apple varieties with us, allowing us to celebrate the joy of a bountiful harvest together.
During this year’s trip to Geochang, for example, the apples were growing well and were harvested earlier than in other regions. At the Geochang Gamaksan Apple & Grape Farmers’ Association, we were fortunate to enjoy freshly cut apples, with the flesh still carrying a hint of natural honey! Later, when visiting small orchards, we also received apples directly from farmers—an auspicious sign of another fruitful season ahead.
After harvest, apples are usually stored at low temperatures to maintain freshness. However, during storage, apples release ethylene gas and other compounds that accelerate ripening and spoilage, shortening their shelf life.
AnsiP-G contains 1-MCP (1-methylcyclopropene), which binds to ethylene receptors in fresh produce and blocks the action of ethylene gas. As a result, it not only suppresses apple ripening and aging but also reduces respiration rates. This is why AnsiP-G has become the top choice for many apple growers who need long-term storage solutions.
