Lytone × Chitamin® Citrus Research
California Citrus Field Trial
Measurable Fruit Growth Following Chitamin® Application
A 2026 field trial evaluated Chitamin® during the active fruit-sizing period in mature Valencia orange trees.
Chitamin® is a foliar biostimulant developed to support active tissue growth and nutrient utilization.
Trial Overview
Year / Location
2026 / California
Crop / Stage
Mature Valencia orange trees / Active fruit-sizing period
Period / Application Rate
27 days / 32 fl oz/acre
Comparison
Chitamin-treated trees vs. matched untreated controls
Sampling
12 fruit per group at each measurement date
Statistical Analysis
One-way ANOVA with Tukey HSD post-hoc analysis
Reported significance: p < 0.01; see the complete report for results by measurement.
Field-Validated Citrus Performance
A Replicated Trial Under California Growing Conditions
Chitamin-treated trees were evaluated against matched untreated controls over a 27-day measurement period.
Finding 1 · Fruit Growth
The Fruit-Size Advantage Continued Through Day 27
Chitamin-treated fruit showed a significant sizing advantage at every measurement date. The difference reached 7.03 mm by Day 27.
Day 6 +31.0% (29.2 vs. 22.3 mm)
Day 27 +7.03 mm
Finding 2 · Leaf Nutrient Status
Leaf Potassium Increased into the Optimum Range
Leaf analysis showed higher potassium levels in the Chitamin-treated trees, moving from below optimum into the mid-optimum range.

Finding 3 · Young-Leaf Sap
Young-Leaf Sap Data Showed Active Potassium Movement
2,750 ppm
The Chitamin-treated trees recorded the highest young-leaf potassium among the treatments evaluated in the trial.
Finding 4 · Mature Canopy
The Canopy Maintained Stronger Indicators Under Fruit Demand
Compared with the untreated control at the close of the fruit-sizing period.
